A project I've created is a combination Pi-star Allstar node.
It's particularly well suited to beginners who want to skip a learning curve, and have everything handled for them.
Also it has both Analog and Digital built-in, no need to carry multiple hotspots. YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL!
I call it "StarDotStar Node".

Some features are as follows:

Simultaneous analog/digital operation
Aluminum case with smoked plexiglas cover
Full duplex MMDVM hotspot, 2 antennas
MMDVM display visible through the cover
Simplex analog RF transceiver (SHARI board), 1 antenna
Onboard SHARI frequency programmer
Dual dashboard showing Supermon (Allstar) and Pi-Star with logs and bubble charts
works well with most portable cellphone battery chargers
automatic port forwards for Allstar, dashboard and SSH external access
ASL Allstarlink software- more powerful than HamVOIP

Limitations are:
This is more of a "project" than a "product"
lower WiFi range than I would like, due to the aluminum case- works fine near the router
occasional need to reset Allstar upon boot (SimpleUSB driver hang issue- needs no reset after that once)
MMDVM display visibility through the cover is dimmer than I'd like, but it looks so pretty!
Simultaneous analog/digital operation does not internally cross modes, but there are plenty of existing rooms for that.
ASL Allstarlink software- less easy than HamVOIP

Priced under USD $500, made to order.
